Services and history

Society for the Sabah Heart Fund (SOSHF) was started in 1981 to help children with congenital heart disease from marginalised and poor families. It was set up by the then Sabah Community Development Minister, Toh Puan Rahimah Stephens.

Over the years, the Society has helped cleared over hundreds of children in the waiting list for corrective heart surgery. As of 2021, a total of 700 heart patients have benefitted from the SOSHF's sponsorship. Many of the patients undergo surgery at the Institut Jantung Negara (IJN), as well as to South Korea.
