11 kids screened by Korean NGO and doctor

The Hon Secretary of the Society For The Sabah Heart Fund, Datuk Eva Susau is pleased to announced that 11 children with CHD has been screened on the 18th May 2017 by the Korean team of NGO and Doctor. Led by Mr. Baek Jong Gu (President of Seong-An Heart Foundation, Korea) The free medical treatment Project- “Mending Hearts” to Korea is a joint collaboration with Seong-An Heart Foundation, Korea , the SOSHF , Likas Women & Children Hospital, Korean Food For The Hungry International (Korea) and Sabah Government through the Ministry of Social Welfare. The main sponsor being Seong-An Heart Foundation and some Korean NGOs, While the Sejong General Hospital is the partnering hospital. (The date of surgeries for this group will be determined very soon )

The SOSHF is pleased to informed that 134 children have been benefited in this 11 years of caring and it has saved millions of Ringgits for the SOSHF and the SOSHF hope this relationship and collaborations will carry on for a long time so more children can be benefited.

At this juncture, the Hon. Secretary of SOSHF wish to say a big ‘Thank You’ to the chief Minister of Sabah , YAB.Datuk Seri Panglima Datuk Musa Hj. Aman who has been very kind and caring through the Ministry of Community Development and Consumer Affair Sabah under YB Datuk Hajah Jainab Datuk Seri Panglima Haji Ahmad Ayid, for the continuous and generous support in providing grant to the Society over the years.

Under this Project the Society only pay for Passport fees for the child and their escorts ,all airfares and allowances ( around Rm 5 k per patient) , while all medical cost , food and lodging incurred in Korea are fully taken care or bear by Mr. Baek team and his foundation .

On behalf of all the patients who have benefitted through this ‘Mendingg Hearts ‘Programn , the Society for the Sabah Heart Fund wish to record our profound gratitude to the Almighty God for bringing us all together as a team , each doing their part to make this possible – giving a new lease of life , for the less fortunate children.

The SOSHF wishes to appeal to the generous public and the corporate organization to donate generously to the society as more funds are needed to send more patients for Corrective Heart Surgeries ,

Five more hole-in-the-heart children between age three and six have left for Seoul

Kota Kinabalu: Five more hole-in-the-heart children between age three and six have left for Seoul, Tuesday night, for corrective heart surgery treatment.

Society for the Sabah Heart Fund (SOSHF) Secretary Datuk Eva Susau said the children are Jayden Christ (4 years old), Dalency Grace (4d), Audrey Elvera (3), Irene Foo (6) and Nursalwa (5).

“The project is made possible with the kindest and most generous collaboration with the Seong An Heart Foundation and Korea Food For The Hungry International (KFHI) and hope this project will continue for a long time,” she said.

Eva thanked the State Government through the Ministry of Health and People’s Wellbeing for the continuous support in providing grant to the Society over the years.

SOSHF said to-date, it have sent 664 patients for corrective heart surgeries since its inception in 1981, out of which 146 have been sponsored under the “Free Medical Operation” programme to Korea. The Society is responsible for the cost of airfare, travel insurance, passport, and pocket allowance to all patients and their escorts.

The SOSHF also sponsored less fortunate patients for medical treatment to the Gleneagles Kuala Lumpur, Gleneagles Kota Kinabalu and Institut Jantung Negara.

SOSHF appeals to the public and corporate organisations to donate generously to the society as more funds are needed for the Society to send more patients for corrective heart surgeries.
